Safety in Numbers examines the arguments for and against legally mandated nurse-to-patient ratios. Entrepreneur Spotlight:
Falcon Critical Care Transport, is a family affair. RNs Tim and Carin Johnson founded the company in 1998. Daughter Tanya Reisinger, RN, joined the team in 2001; she created the HR department and is in charge of training and education. Son Brian Johnson, RN, facilitated the development of the BLS division, developed contacts with many facilities, and incorporated advanced technical support to the operations.

Tim and Carin’s extensive backgrounds in critical care, emergency, trauma, and air ambulances, led them to see a need for the transportation of critically ill patients in a safe mobile environment to higher levels of care. Today, Falcon provides that transport in, but not limited to, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, and Solano counties in California.

The company provides basic life support and critical care transportation as well as NICU/PICU transports and special events standbys.
