Cardillo Receives Master's Degree With Honors
Donna
Wilk Cardillo, RN of Sea Girt, NJ recently graduated from
Monmouth University in West Long Branch with a Master of
Arts in Corporate and Public Communication. She also received
an academic award for the highest grade point average in
her department. Her thesis was entitled, “Nurses in
the Media: Invisible or Inaccessible?” Donna is the
daughter of Helen and Stanley Wilk also of Sea Girt.
“It
took me five years to complete my degree on a part time
basis, but it was well worth the effort” says Cardillo.
Cardillo took a year off from school to write “Your
First Year as a Nurse” which was published in 2001
by Prima Publishing, a division of Random House. “There
were times that I don’t know how I juggled family,
work, and school but somehow I got through. It was sheer
determination and a commitment to finish. I encourage anyone
who is considering higher education to just do it. The sacrifices
are well worth the personal gain.”
Ms.
Cardillo attended Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in
Teaneck, NJ where she received a Diploma in Nursing. She
also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Management
from St. Peter’s College in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
She is president of Cardillo & Associates, a professional
development consulting and education company located in
Sea Girt, NJ. Donna is a keynote speaker, author, columnist,
and consultant.
